Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the RS02CB based on?

It is based on the custom Revstar of Chris Buck, who has played it since 2020 and was closely involved in recreating it with Yamaha.

Is the body solid or chambered?

Chambered. The maple and mahogany body is built with Yamaha's Acoustic Design process, which reduces weight and is designed to improve tone.

What pickups does it have?

P90 style pickups voiced with Chris Buck. The coil windings and magnets were chosen for slightly lower output, which gives a clear, detailed response at lower volumes and a strong, open tone when driven.

What bridge does it use?

A TonePros AVT2 wraparound bridge, carried over from Chris Buck's original custom guitar. Its direct string-to-body design is intended to maximize resonance.

What is the neck made of?

Three pieces of mahogany with carbon reinforcement for strength and stability.

Does it come with a case?

It includes a deluxe gigbag.

From Chris Buck

“My custom shop Revstar has been the beating heart of every record I’ve made and every show I’ve played since I first laid hands on it in 2020. It hasn’t left my side and has quite literally travelled the globe with me, from Cairo to California. Collaborating so closely with Yamaha to recreate my guitar over the past few years has been a labour of love. As much as it may be based on my guitar, this one’s yours…”
